  • Have a high school diploma or state issued GED certificate.
  • Meet our minimum math requirement through one of the following:
    • Two semesters of high school algebra 1 (or higher-level algebra) with a passing grade of ‘C’ or higher,

Required Items

You must be able to submit all the following items by the application deadline to qualify for interview:

  • Copy of your driver’s license.
  • OFFICIAL transcripts for high school and post high school education and training, including GED records if applicable.
    • Official transcripts means that the transcripts are delivered to the AJEATT directly from the school, whether electronically or by mail. You can deliver transcripts if they are sealed by the school. You may email transcripts if they contain verifiable digital certificates (such as through Adobe).
  • Copy of high school diploma or GED certificate. High school transcripts are sufficient if they show that you successfully obtained a diploma.
  • Documentation showing that you meet the minimum math requirement.
  • A full individual driving record obtained within 90 days of your application date.
  • $25 application fee.

Do any of the following apply to you?

  • You have worked at least 2,000 hours performing tree trimming, inside wireman (commercial or residential electrical construction), outside lineman, or telecommunications work
  • You have been honorably discharged from service with the United States military in the last 5 years

If so, you may qualify for interview without meeting all of the above requirements. Please contact the school for more information.

The AJEATT will not discriminate against apprenticeship applicants or apprentices based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), sexual orientation, genetic information, or because they are an individual with a disability or a person 40 years old or older. The AJEATT will take affirmative action to provide equal opportunity in apprenticeship and will operate the apprenticeship program as required under Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, part 30.

It is against the law for a sponsor of an apprenticeship program registered for Federal purposes to discriminate against an apprenticeship applicant or apprentice based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age (40 years or older), genetic information, or disability. The sponsor must ensure equal opportunity with regard to all terms, conditions, and privileges associated with apprenticeship. If you think that you have been subjected to discrimination, you may file a complaint. Read more about your rights here.
